Three of the four people killed in a confrontation with the police already had a criminal history, according to the Bahia Public Security Secretariat.
On Wednesday night (25), the group was surprised during the birthday party of one of the leaders of drug trafficking who operates in Bairro da Paz, in Salvador.
According to the police, anonymous reports indicated that a “drug party” was taking place on Rua 7 de Setembro with armed people. After patrols, the police arrived at the scene and there was an exchange of gunfire.
Six injured criminals ended up being taken to a hospital, but four did not survive and two remain in custody in a health unit.
According to the secretariat, two pistols, two revolvers and 39 bundles of marijuana were found with them. All material was taken to the headquarters of the Department of Homicide and Personal Protection (DHPP), where the incident was registered.
Policing was reinforced in the neighborhood to avoid possible new clashes and guarantee the safety of the population. The police also said they are seeking to “identify other accomplices”.
