Three -month baby Died after being attacked by a pitbull dog in the Capibaribe neighborhood, in São Lourenço da Mata, in the metropolitan region of Recife. At the time of the attack, Lucas Levi dos Santos was under the care of a woman who takes care of children at home, while the child’s mother worked.
According to investigations, the dog was kept in the backyard of the residence, but managed to enter the house and attacked the baby. The Fire Department was called, but upon arriving at the scene, the child was already lifeless.
The animal tutor reported to the Civil Police that he tried to prevent the attack. “It has injuries in the hands compatible with the attempt to contain the dog,” said Deputy Victor Leite.
The woman, who was not arrested, was sent to the Department of Homicides and Person Protection (DHPP) to provide clarification.
The baby’s body was taken to the Institute of Forensic Medicine (IML), in the center of Recife. The release for the family is scheduled for this Tuesday (15).
