A four-month-old baby died after being run over by a car along with his mother on BR-304, in the interior of Rio Grande do Norte, on the night of last Wednesday (16). Parnamirim’s mayor, Professor Nilda (Solidarity) was in the vehicle involved in the accident.
According to the Federal Highway Police (PRF), the run over occurred around 7:15 pm, at the time of Caiçara do Rio do Vento, approximately 100 km from Natal.
As determined by CNN the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and performed the breathalyzer test, which gave negative. The woman and the baby were rescued and taken to Walfredo Gurgel Hospital in Natal. The mother has been discharged. The child, however, died in the health unit. The victim was identified as Noah Josué, four months old.
In a statement released on social networks, the head of the municipal executive reported that it was returning from an institutional commitment at the time of the accident. Read below:
The mayor of Parnamirim is publicly informing, with deep sadness and regret, the occurrence of a tragic accident on BR-304, around 7:30 pm on Wednesday (16), when returning from an institutional commitment.
It is important to emphasize that the driver of the vehicle spontaneously underwent the breathalyzer test, which gave negative, provided immediate help to the victims and called the Federal Highway Police-which immediately went to the scene, only leaving after the PRF release.
One of the victims was rescued to Walfredo Gurgel Hospital in Natal and has been discharged. A child, unfortunately, died in the hospital.
At this moment of such pain, all the necessary assistance is being provided to the family and we joined in prayers and we ask for prayers for the child’s memory.
