A 15-day baby was kidnapped on the morning of Friday (11), in the municipality of Novo Lino (AL), 100 kilometers from Maceió. According to the Civil Police, the mother of the child was at a bus stop at Novo Eusébio village, on the banks of BR-101, when she was surprised by four criminals who pulled the newborn from her arms.
According to investigations, the crime was committed by three men and one woman who arrived at a black Corsa Classic. One of the criminals got out of the vehicle, pointed to a gun at his mother and took the baby to force. The group then fled the Federal Highway towards the state of Pernambuco.
The child was identified as Ana Beatriz Silva de Oliveira. Images of the car were released by the Civil Police to assist in investigations and help in locating the suspects and rescue the victim.
In a statement, the Alagoas Civil Police reported that the mother was waiting for school transportation to bring the eldest son, 5, to school, when he was approached. In testimony, she reported that one of the kidnappers is a dark man with chest tattoo and the woman has blond hair. The baby’s uncle also gave testimony at the New Lino police station.
The State Department of Public Security has set up a task force with teams of the Civil and Military Police, as well as support from the Federal Highway Police, to intensify searches in the region.
