This Friday afternoon (7), Netflix released the video of the actress’ audition Jessica Gunning for the starring role in “Baby Reindeer” . The series is based on real events in the life of Richard Gadd who also acts and directs the production.
Jessica Gunning plays Martha, a stalker who becomes obsessed with a comedian (Richard Gadd) who offers her a free drink at a bar. Through the series, Gadd reports that the woman who pursued him for years even sent 41,071 emails, 350 hours of voicemails, 106 pages of letters, 744 tweets and 46 Facebook messages.
In the series, Jessica Gunning’s character presents her own “manners” with, at times, exaggerated expressions. In the announced audition, the actress plays some of the moments seen of Martha in the production.

A Scottish woman who claims to be the “real-life Martha” is suing Netflix for $170 million for mental anguish, loss of enjoyment in life and loss of business,” according to a complaint filed with District Court for the Central District of California.
Netflix, in turn, said it will contest the woman’s action. In a statement to CNN International a Netflix spokesperson said, “We intend to defend this matter vigorously and defend Richard Gadd’s right to tell his story.”
