A Scene from the soap opera “Back over”, aired on Friday night (18), caught the public’s attention by bringing to compose the plot a signal used as a warning for violence against women .
In the episode, the character Roxelle (Isadora Cruz), kept in captivity by Gerson (Enrique Diaz), tries to get out of the situation by communicating with three women with a handmade gesture. At the time of the incident, the two are having dinner in a restaurant when the woman asks to go to the bathroom.
Gerson accompanies her to the scene and she pretends to bump into a table where women are sitting.
After apologizing to them, she goes with the man to the bathroom and, on her back, makes the warning sign: open the palm, put the thumb folded in the center and close her fingers.
The sign was created by the NGO to protect Canadian Women’s Foundation and aims to help those who live in a situation of violence.
Roxelle’s plan works out and the women present at the site trigger the manager, who, in turn, calls the police.
“Excuse me. We received a complaint that there is a risk woman here, needing help. The manager said she is her escort,” police tells Gerson.
The man tries to ask Roxelle to say that everything is fine, but it takes the opportunity:
“He’s keeping me coerced in this restaurant! Worse! Until yesterday, he left me in private jail. In the family’s Haras, in a little room! Not to mention that he took my cell phone, to make me incommunicado, away from my family and my friends,” he replies.
Through the web, netizens exalted the scene and had emphasized the importance it can have for people people. Check it out:
