Back to the red zone: what can be done (and not) from today 31 December

Self-certification always. This is the basic rule for moving on red days. Italy returns to the red zone on Thursday 31 December and remains there until Sunday 3 January. It will be orange on Monday 4th and then red again on 5th and 6th January. The rules are those that are already in place from 24 to 27 December, but for 31 there are some more restrictions.

CURFEW
Only for the night between December 31st and January 1st the curfew is longer. It shoots at 10pm and ends at 7am, not 5am.

MOVEMENTS
Movements are prohibited unless necessary and you must always have them with you self-certification (which you can download here). However, proven needs such as work, health and urgency are always valid for exiting. It is always possible to return to your home or residence.

As on Christmas days, you can visit friends and relatives: only two adults plus children under 14 or disabled or non self-sufficient people living together once a day. Nobody forbids me to stop and sleep with friends or relatives and return home the following day.

It is allowed to do one walk wearing a mask near your home and doing sports alone.

You can always go to the second box found in the region where you live. Regional borders remain closed.

RESTAURANTS
Restaurants and bars are closed. However, the take-away service is active, within 10 pm, and always the home delivery service.

SHOPS
They are open food and you can move to a municipality other than your own to do the shopping if this is cheaper elsewhere or some products are not available. Tobacconists and newsagents as well as consumer electronics and telephone shops can remain open. The same goes for bookstores, stationeries and hardware stores. Toy and children’s clothing stores are also open, such as those selling underwear. Pharmacies and perfumeries, optical shops and those for pets are open. Hairdressers and laundries work.

INSIDE HOME
As for what is done in private homes, there are no prohibitions, but only recommendations. The indication is for two guests, excluding minors, holding the mask when not eating. Keep your distance and air the rooms every hour. Better not to let the elderly and children stay close.

PARTIES
There is a ban on organizing parties “in public places and in private places”. Barrels are not prohibited by the decree, but by local ordinances yes. The ban on gathering remains. Nothing has been organized in the city squares.
