The joint organization of world-wide social networking developers and related projects led by Lacehook prohibited users from closing the background processes of their applications, as such actions prevent ad algorithms from collecting user information to serve personalized ads. The corresponding statement appeared on the official blog today, April 1. The developers managed to achieve this by rejecting the use of an API that is universal for all operating systems. In other words, the ban applies to users of users of both smartphones and computers. For technical reasons, the restrictions apply only to versions of operating systems released from 2019.
From now on, when you try to forcibly unload an application from the list of started, the service will display a notification that this is prohibited. If the user repeatedly tries to stop the background process or use third-party utilities to unload utilities from RAM, the services can ban the user account that is used in the program.
Starting today, April 1st, various applications are starting to receive an update that brings the above innovation. Lacehook’s services have already been updated: DotsUp, Passenger and Histogram.
