Backyard background ends tour that took Brazilian music to the USA

The United States tour of the backyard ended on Sunday (23) in Los Angeles. Historical reference of Brazilian music, the traditional samba group, formed in the 70’s, attracted public wherever it went. The performances of Sereno, Ademir Batera, Márcio Alexandre, Junior Itaguay and Tiago Testa, began on Friday (14) in New York, went to Boston and then Miami.

The group also did shows in the capital, Washington, and Houston.

“We started there in New York, the audience was simply wonderful, and we really didn’t expect it to be that way. It was very exciting. In Washington, the crowd didn’t want to leave the stage. Young Students

For Sereno, 84, one of the founders of the backyard, the tour represented a deep feeling.

Unfortunately, health prevented him from being present, but God is a father and is round,” he added, confident in his friend’s recovery. Sereno is also founder of the backyard fund.

Near the 50th anniversary, the samba wheels of the backyard, at the headquarters of Cacique de Ramos, in the North Zone of Rio, have a tradition of gathering from the beginning of Brazilian music such as Almir Guineto, Beth Carvalho, Arlindo Cruz, Jorge Aragão, Zeca Pagodinho and Sombrinha.

The group is also recognized as innovative. Ubirany, also a founder, was the creator of the hand repique, which is a characteristic of the backyard background, leading other groups to use the instrument.
