The Metropolitan Museum of Art (MET), in New York, announced this Thursday (15), four artists who will be the hosts of the Met Gala 2024 and who will be responsible for leading the Costume Institute Benefit event.
Bad Bunny, Chris Hemsworth, Zendaya and Jennifer Lopez are confirmed for one of the biggest events in the fashion world, which has been organized and chaired by Anna Wintour since 1995, who is also editor-in-chief of Vogue USA.
A video was released on the museum's social networks in which it simulates an exchange of messages between Anna and the hosts. In addition to addressing the theme chosen for this year, the publisher invites them to the event, which takes place in May 6th .
This year, the edition will focus on “Sleeping Beauties: Reawaking Fashion”, something like “Sleeping Beauties: The Awakening of Fashion”, in free translation.
400 years of history
The exhibition at the Costume Institute, a branch of the museum focused on fashion and costume, for which the funds are raised, takes place between May and September 2024 and will feature around 250 items that were taken from the institute's permanent collection, with emphasis on items unreleased to the public.
Traditional names such as Christian Dior, Hubert de Givenchy and Elsa Schiaparelli sign some creations in the exhibition that will showcase 400 years of fashion history.
