BAFTA 2022, all the looks of the stars on the red carpet

Filed last year’s phygital ceremony, BAFTA 2022 are back in all their glory opening the Awards season that will end on March 27 with the Oscars in Los Angeles. Industry veterans and emerging movie and TV stars have given show on the red carpet wrapped in sparkling dresses tailored and super glamorous Hollywood-worthy outfits.

All look in any case never over the top in light of the current world situation. It seems, in fact, that the celebs present at the event were advised to wear appropriate and respectful outfits with regard to the conflict in Ukraine. The stars, flawless, have shown that class is not water, showing off looks that, in any case, managed to dazzle us and even make us forget the great absentees of the evening, Prince William and Kate Middleton (the Duke of Cambridge is president of the BAFTAs and has always been the protagonist together with his wife of the show: this year, however, he missed the appointment, it seems – even if the motivation is not confirmed – in protest against the BBC, network that repeatedly hit the royal family, which broadcast the event on TV).

Returning to the dresses that we admired on the red carpet, there were several that left their mark, starting with that of the hostess Rebel Wilson who presented the evening and appeared below in flashes of photographers not only in perfect shape, but also dazzling, wrapped in a cloud of tulle and sequins in an ensemble signed by Giambattista Valli Haute Couture.

And what about the protagonists of House of Gucci, Lady Gaga and Salma Hayek? The first channeled the glamor of retro Hollywood divas into a custom emerald velvet dress by Ralph Lauren, made even more wow by Tiffany & Co. jewels and a feathered handbag (plus towering platform shoes, absolutely spectacular). The second, beautiful, amazed with a tight dress (also hers in velvet) by Gucci, in the most beautiful shade of deep purple ever and lace details, which highlighted her sinuous silhouette.

Triumph of the third part velvet, since it is always top too Naomi Campbell chose this fabric for her total black Burberry dress, giving a great lesson in elegance.

Fashion at this year’s BAFTAs has however fluctuated between dark look, sometimes gothic (see the outfit of Millie Bobby Brown in Louis Vuitton) and highlighter outfit (impossible not to be dazzled by the shocking pink of Valentino’s tailored suit worn by the future star of Bridgerton Simone Ashley, or from the lemon yellow of the Oscar de la Renta dress sported by the protagonist of West Side Story Ariana De Bose, who won the award for best supporting actress).

Honorable mention, then, a Shirley Bassey which, dressed in gold in a statuette shade, opened the evening on the notes of Diamonds are forever to honor James Bond’s 60th anniversary.
