More than 3 thousand tourists, including Brazilians and foreigners, arrived in Salvador this Monday morning (4). The ship left Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain, and headed towards Ilhéus in the late afternoon, officially opening the 2024/25 cruise season in Bahia.
According to the state government, Morro de São Paulo, Itacaré, Trancoso and Abrolhos are the destinations in Bahia that receive vessels for the first time.
The first of the nine ships is among the vessels that will travel more than 200 routes. Until April 23, 2025, there will be 82 dockings expected for the cruise season in the ports of Salvador and Ilhéus, in addition to operations in Porto Seguro, Itacaré and Cairu, with an estimate of receiving around 300 thousand visitors throughout the season.
The State Tourism Secretariat (Setur-BA) also points out the impact of the sector with visitations, as they boost the economy for hotels, restaurants, shops and other local attractions. Statistical projections are still being raised by the organization, together with the Cruise Association, but it is certain that the period boosts the tourist trade, generating opportunities and strengthening the state as one of the most sought after destinations in the country.
