The Russian company Baikal Electronics decided to conduct an experiment on assembling branded processors in Russia. This was reported by the authoritative edition of RBC with reference to representatives of the companies participating in the project.

The company has already agreed to start packaging, that is, installing the microcircuit in the case, on the production lines of the GS Group in the Kaliningrad region.
Andrey Evdokimov, general director of Baikal Electronics, commented on the test production in Russia:
Packaging is one of those technological processes that can be transferred to the territory of the country, thereby generating most of its added value within Russia. ”
At the moment, microcircuits for Baikal processors are produced by the Taiwanese company TSMC, assembly is also performed abroad. So far, Evdokimov has not told how large volumes are planned to be collected in Russia.
