Baked side dishes: 5 different (and very good) recipes

In autumn and winter we indulge ourselves with all kinds of roasts: rolls, meat, fish … and doubts always fall on the side dish to match. In the end, in the uncertainty, we always play it safe and opt for potatoes, right? Today we change mood, with 5 side dishes in the oven to vary, get to know new flavors, color the table.

If you are looking for something new, but not completely different, go for a mixed side dish of potatoes and broccoli: the potatoes, however, are purple and both vegetables are seasoned with garlic, aromatic herbs and lemon. One of our favorite side dishes is based on carrots, with butter and sage: those fresh and irregular, and of all colors (purple – which is the birth color of carrots, did you know? – orange, yellow)… a wonder to behold, and a unique sweetness to taste. If the thought of a sweet and sour side teases you, then that of roasted caramelized onions is perfect for you: mixed onions including those from Tropea with their unmistakable aroma, sugar, balsamic vinegar.

How not to mention you, one of the best roasted side dishes ever? Pumpkin with hazelnuts and macaroons roasted, sliced, well seasoned, the most suitable variety and some variations at your disposal. We conclude with an authentic delicatesse, the roasted apples with leeks : to be combined with meat, especially pork, and to be enriched with chestnuts, plums, Brussels sprouts, and obviously also with potatoes.
