The Bakkt platform has entered into an agreement with Google, under which holders of Bakkt virtual Visa debit cards will be able to pay with cryptocurrencies using Google Pay.
When using Google Pay, cryptocurrencies will be automatically converted into fiat funds and transferred to the store’s account. You can pay for goods and services with cryptocurrencies both online and when visiting real stores. Bakkt CEO Gavin Michael said:
“This partnership proves Bakkt’s leadership in the digital asset market. We enable clients to reliably and securely use their digital assets in real life, in real time. In addition, leveraging the power of Google Cloud will enable us to continue to develop the best and most innovative platform that will be used by millions of users. ”
Google Cloud spokesman Kirsten Kliphouse noted that the company is pleased to provide its cloud platform and developments in various fields for the development and promotion of Bakkt.
Through the use of Google Cloud, the Bakkt platform is about to develop new analytical tools using machine learning, artificial intelligence and geolocation capabilities. Such tools can be used in loyalty programs and in assessing consumer behavior.
As a reminder, Bakkt launched its own wallet for storing digital assets in March this year.
