Ballot boxes open for KINAL elections – What do the presidential candidates say?

The ballot boxes for the KINAL elections have opened in 840 polling stations throughout Greece from 7 am to 7 pm on Sunday and any citizen who wishes, whether a member or a friend of the party, will be able to vote, as reported by ertnews .

Also, in 11 countries abroad, 22 polling stations will be set up for expatriates. Voters can vote where it is convenient for them and can be informed about the polling stations on the website of the Movement for Change.

According to AMPE, EDEKAP has announced that “citizens of European Union countries residing permanently in Greece, in addition to the identity card (identity card or passport) must, in addition to the application for registration of a member or friend, also submit an AMKA certificate from the application Foreigners living in our country must have a passport, a valid residence permit in our country, an AMKA certificate from the application of IDIKA and necessarily if they are not members of the Movement to submit an application for registration of a member or friend of the Movement.

Abroad in the USA, EU, UK and Australia can vote those Greek citizens who meet the above criteria. That is, they are registered in the National Electoral List. Their certification will be done in the same way as if they were in Greece.

EDEKAP has announced that the polling stations abroad will operate as follows:

– Australia: 10:00 to 19:00 local time

– Cyprus: from 9:00 to 19:00 local time

– European Union from 9:00 to 17:00 local time

– England from 12:00 to 18:00 local time

– USA from 9:00 to 16:00

– Canada: Montreal 9:00 to 15:00 and Toronto 9:00 to 14:00 local time

All health measures will be observed and voters can download the member and friend registration application to have it ready, so that there are no delays.

Where the candidates for the presidency of KINAL are voting

Candidates for the leadership of the Movement for Change vote in the following constituencies:

– Andreas Loverdos at the Cultural Center of Metamorphosis

– Nikos Androulakis at the Municipal Sports and Cultural Center of Heraklion, Crete

– Pavlos Geroulanos at the Cultural Center of the Municipality of Athens

– George Papandreou at the Old Town Hall of Tavros

– Pavlos Christidis at the 22nd Municipal Store of the Municipality of Athens

– Haris Kastanidis in the 5th District of the Municipal Community in Thessaloniki.

Dimitris Mavros, CEO of MRB and Manolis Christodoulakis, secretary general of the Central Committee of KINAL spoke to ERT about how they expect the important electoral process to develop on Sunday.

The first results are expected about an hour after the polls close. According to estimates by party officials and EDEKAP, there may be a clearer picture of the result around 9 pm, unless the difference is small between the first two or three candidates.

Andreas Loverdos arrived at the polling station of Metamorfosi at 8:30 on Sunday morning, in order to vote for the internal party elections of the Movement for Change, as broadcast by ANT1.

“It is finally time to raise the democratic faction forward. It is time for PASOK to move forward and for our Greece to go high,” said Andreas Loverdos, who is one of the six candidates for the Movement’s leadership.

“A day of optimism and strength is dawning. A day when we will dare to create the great Democratic Party, the PASOK of the new era”, stressed the candidate for the leadership of KINAL Pavlos Christidis, who voted in the 22nd Municipal Store of the Municipality of Athens, according to SKAI.

“We must remember Fofi Gennimata without whom we would not be here, without her effort, without her work, without her courage all the previous years” stressed Pavlos Christidis.
