Lawyer Matheus Fernando da Silva, who represents the family of Professor Larissa Rodrigues, 37, said the the victim’s bank account was moved after his death in Ribeirão Preto, in the interior of São Paulo.
Larissa was found dead after being poisoned in March this year. The main suspect for the crime is her husband, the doctor Luiz Antonio Garnica, who is arrested. His mother, Elizabete Arbaça, was also arrested, suspected of participation in the crime.
According to the lawyer, the account movements occurred on the first business day after Larissa’s funeral. Transactions include bank payments, discharge of slips and even charges of mall parking tags.
The teacher had received a sum of money after her mother’s death, coming from a shared life insurance between her, the father and a brother. The value was passed on to the father, after both of them giving up the amount.
According to him, the victim’s cell phone was with Luiz at the time of the movements. “He only surrendered the cell phone when he introduced himself to the delegate,” he added.

Larissa’s body was found by her husband on the morning of March 22 in the couple’s apartment, located in the Jardim Botanico neighborhood, south of Ribeirão Preto, interior of São Paulo.
The doctor’s participation became evident to the police for the way he found Larissa’s body, already in cadaverous stiffness, and for his attempt to clean the apartment after finding her dead, interpreted as an action to conceal proofs of expertise.
In addition, a witness reported to the police that, about 15 days before death, Larissa’s mother -in -law was looking for “chumbinho” to buy.
Another point that raised suspicions was the mother’s first statement. Initially, she reported that Larissa would have invited her to talk the night before death, as both had recently lost relatives. However, the investigation and other evidence collected by the police indicated that this meeting did not occur.
Given the evidence, police requested and obtained the custody of Luiz Antonio Garnica and his mother. During the investigations, cell phones were seized, which will now be analyzed to identify the motivation of the crime.
In a statement, the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP) reported that the case is investigated through police inquiry filed by the 3rd Deic Homicide Police Station 3. “On Tuesday afternoon (6), civil police complied with two temporary arrest warrants against the suspects of involvement in the death of the victim. The autonomy of the police work ”, adds the note.
THE CNN tries to contact the defense of those involved and the space is still open to demonstrations.
