Bank loans grew 27.8% in April year on year, says BC

New credit operations grew 3.8% in April compared to March, according to data released this Wednesday (27) by the Central Bank. When the comparison is with the same month of 2021, loans grew 27.8%.

In nominal values, average concessions totaled R$ 24.2 billion in April, up 22.8% in 12 months. While the balance of loans to households rose 1.8% in the month, the stock to companies increased by 1% in April.

The high occurs even with the high of the Selic, which is currently at 13.25%. According to the BC, the average interest rate rose to 27.7%, well above the 20.4% in April 2021.

In terms of individuals, the average interest rate rose from 31.4% in March to 32.1% in April. In the fourth month of last year, the average interest rate for households was 25.3%.

For companies, the growth was from 18.7% to 20.2% in the monthly variation. In April 2021, interest for legal entities was 12.8%.
