Since the start of testing the digital ruble pilot project in August, the Bank of Russia has carried out almost 14,000 transactions in 11 Russian cities. This was stated by the first deputy chairman of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation Olga Skorobogatova.

In total, about 500 digital ruble wallets were opened. 13 banks are currently participating in the experiment, and in 2024 their number will increase to 30. The amount of transactions with the digital ruble has reached 919,000 rubles, as follows from the presentation. About 600 individuals and 30 legal entities are participating in testing.

State Bank VTB said it has developed a technology for withdrawing digital rubles from ATMs. The bank promises that the state digital currency can be withdrawn from all 14,000 ATMs of its own network.

In October, Alla Bakina, director of the national payment system department of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, said that the Bank of Russia does not intend to establish restrictions on the use of the digital ruble.
