Bank robbers of the same family are arrested in Salvador

Four cousins ​​were arrested on the morning of Thursday (10), suspected of joining a group specializing in crimes against financial institutions, through theft of bank branches. The operation entitled Blood Ties, for the relationship of kinship among those involved, was triggered by the Bahia Civil Police, through the Specialized Department of Criminal Investigations (Deic).

The arrests took place in the Santo Inácio neighborhood and at Fazenda Grande do Retiro, in Salvador. Search and seizure warrants were fulfilled on the island of Itaparica and Feira de Santana, where a 40 -time caliber pistol, three theft products, tablets weighing one and a half of marijuana, portions of cocaine and crack stones were seized.

In addition, two vehicles were also seized, one stolen and one used in the robbery of a bank branch in Lauro de Freitas, which occurred in January this year, as well as clothes used by those involved on the day of the crime.

The group is also investigated for vehicle theft and one of them played the role of drug trafficking manager in Santo Inácio, a neighborhood of the capital of Bahia.

Even with the arrest warrants, two suspects were still filed in the act for illegal possession of firearms and drug trafficking.

More than 100 police officers participated in the steps. Investigations continues to identify other possible suspects of involvement with the gang.
