Obama won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Narrator for his work on the Netflix “Our Great National Parks”.
Higher Ground, producer of Barack and Michelle Obama, created the five-part documentary series about national parks and wildlife around the world.
Obama is the second US president to win an Emmy. Dwight Eisenhower was awarded an honorary Governors Award by the Television Academy while still in office in 1956.

Obama is now halfway to becoming an EGOT winner, an Emmy recipient, Grammys, Oscars and Tony Awards . The achievement was only achieved by 17 people, including Rita Moreno and John Legend . The former president has won two Grammys for audio versions of his memoir.
Also on Saturday, the late actor Chadwick Boseman was honored with a posthumous Emmy. Boseman won the voice acting category for his role in the animated series Disney+ “What If…?” as Marvel’s Star-Lord T’Challa.
The “Black Panther” star died in 2020 at the age of 43 from cancer.
