Barbie Ferreira is leaving “Euphoria”.
The actress, who plays Kat on the show, revealed the news on her Instagram this Wednesday (24), saying she will not be returning to the drama series. HBO before its third season.
“After four years playing the most special and enigmatic character Kat, I’m having to say goodbye with tears in my eyes,” wrote Ferreira.
She continued, “I hope that many of you can see yourself in her as I did and that she has brought joy to see her journey into the character she is today. I put all my care and love and I hope you can feel it. I love you Katherine Hernandez.”
The character Kat explores online sex work in season 1 of the series and she has started a relationship with Ethan (played by Austin Abrams).
After a success in Season 2, “Euphoria” has been renewed for a third season. It centers on Zendaya’s character Rue, a teenager living in suburban California struggling with drugs and the loss of her father.
