Born on January 8, 1935, Elvis Aaron Presley was one of the most significant singers of the 20th century, so the most popular doll of the last 100 years decided to honor him during the famous Elvis Week 2021 with a new doll.
Called Elvis Presley Barbie Doll, Mattel’s newest creation has the iconic hairstyle that Elvis made famous in the 1950s and 1960s, as well as the typical high-necked white suit, designed by Bill Belew, that the Mississippi native came to wear in 1973.
When Elvis came out on the music scene, he introduced us to a unique style, quirky sound, and legendary dance moves. Barbie honors the legendary king of rock & roll with the Elvis Presley Barbie Doll, wearing an incredible Pompadour and ponytail, and wearing an outfit inspired by the iconic American Eagle costume.
Just like the original he wore to his concerts, the costume is worshiping with sparkling eagles in red, gold and blue, it has a removable cape, a red scarf, belt and flared pants.
The striking doll is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity, an ideal document for all those fans of the famous brand who collect all the special editions created by Barbie. The body of this new doll is inspired by the line created by Gigi Hadid in 2017.
This is the third time that Mattel has decided to launch a line to honor the legacy, life and achievements of Elvis Presley. In 1996, the Barbie Loves Elvis line featured the king of rock & roll and a doll inspired by his wife Priscilla Presley.
With an estimated cost of $ 50, the Elvis Presley Barbie Doll went on the market on August 12.
