The Deputy Foreign Minister is leaving for Luxembourg tomorrow, Tuesday 22 June. Miltiadis Varvitsiotis, in order to participate in the General Affairs Council of the European Union, which will meet in the physical presence of European ministers.
A key issue on the GSP agenda is the preparation for the June 24th and 25th Summit, which focuses on European coordination on dealing with the pandemic, economic recovery, the migration issue, EU-Turkey and EU-Russia relations. as well as the upcoming Euro Summit, according to the relevant announcement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The agenda also includes issues related to Enlargement and the Stabilization and Association Process, the Conference on the Future of Europe, the Rule of Law in Poland, the Values ​​of the Union in Hungary, and EU-Switzerland relations.
On the sidelines of the Council, Mr Varvitsiotis will also take part in EU intergovernmental conferences with Montenegro and Serbia under the New Enlargement Methodology.
Following the conclusion of the General Affairs Council, the Deputy Foreign Minister will accompany the Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, to Brussels, where the EU Summit of Heads of State will take place.
