BBB 23: Cara de Sapato testifies in Rio de Janeiro and speaks of regret

Fighter Antonio Cara de Sapato, 33 years old, arrived around 1:50 pm this Wednesday (22) to give a statement at the Jacarepaguá Women’s Assistance Police Station (Deam), in the west zone of Rio de Janeiro.

Accompanied by three lawyers, the fighter spoke for about an hour and a half with the delegate responsible for the case. On leaving, the former participant of the reality show Big Brother Brasil 23 said that everything was being very difficult and that he regretted what he did.

“Certainly people regret it. I’m not in the best of times right now. I really wanted to talk to you later”, said the fighter on his way out of the police station.

The former BBB 23 participant said that as soon as possible he will provide further clarification.

The fighter’s lawyer, Ricardo Sidi, also spoke to the press and said he was confident that the case would be archived.

“We are confident that it will be seen that in relation to Antonio Cara de Sapato there was no invasive behavior regarding the victim’s consent. From what she goes public and declares, it does not seem to me a crime of sexual harassment”, said the defender.

Cara de Sapato and the singer MC Guimê, 30, are investigated for sexual harassment against the Mexican model, Dania Mendez, during a party at BBB 23.

Guimê was at the police station in Jacarepaguá, in Rio de Janeiro, on Monday (20), and stayed there for about an hour. Upon arrival for the deposition, he said he was calm and trying to resolve the case.

During a party at BBB, images showed MC Guimê groping the Mexican participant’s buttocks and Cara de Sapato trying to immobilize the model to kiss her by force.

The two were expelled and eliminated from the program on Thursday (16), by decision of TV Globo, accused of violating BBB rules.

After the elimination, Cara de Sapato and MC Guimê posted videos on social networks lamenting the fact. The fighter apologized for the episode and the MC said he was “heartbroken”.

The delegate in charge of the case, Viviane Costa, has already informed that she does not rule out new testimonies in the case, from members of the BBB production, from other program participants and from the victim, who returned to Mexico.

According to the Civil Police, images of the entire case have already been requested from TV Globo. A CNN requested a note from the broadcaster and awaits a position on the investigations.
