BBB: find out who the former participants who have died are

Since the first edition of Big Brother Brazil in 2002, the public followed the lives of more than 400 brothers and sisters . While some become established and achieve fame, others decide to return to their lives as they were before.

Although the reality show is recent and has only had 24 editions, some of the participants have already died. Check out the list below.

Check out the former BBB participants who have died:

Edilson Buba (BBB 4)

The Curitiba native participated in the program when he was 32 years old and won over the audience with his charisma. At the time, he was dating Dirliane and even cried missing his beloved while hugging a stuffed animal, a moment that was highlighted in the edition.

However, he got the worst of it in a double wall with Juliana Lopes and was the sixth eliminated.

In 2006, when he was married to Dili, Buba died as a result of a abdominal cancer .

Josiane Oliveira (BBB 9)

First participant in a glass house In the story, Josy was 30 years old when he participated in BBB9. The psychologist was born in Juiz de Fora, in Minas Gerais, and decided to pursue a career as a singer after being eliminated from the program.

In 2021, during surgery to treat an aneurysm, she had a stroke and did not survive. At 43 years old, the former BBB left her husband and a son.

André Cowboy (BBB 9)

The singer joined BBB9 alongside Maíra Cardi at the time a model and presenter, through the edition’s second glass house. Those chosen by the public became part of the program’s cast, but André soon became the villain for arguing with other brothers. Like Buba, he was the sixth eliminated that year and died two years after participating in the reality show.

In 2011, Cowboy was murdered with a shot to the back of the head on his farm in the interior of São Paulo. He died at the age of 37 and left his wife and three children.

At the time, Luciana Gusmão de Almeida said that her husband heard a dog barking at night and went to investigate, but was surprised by a gunshot. She even called him after hearing the noise, but got no response. Taken to the hospital alive, André did not survive.

The investigations worked with the possibility of armed robbery (robbery followed by death) motivated by revenge or debt collection from the ex-BBB. However, the case remains unsolved.

Norberto dos Santos (BBB 9)

The “Grandpa Nonô ”, as it was known, was one of the oldest participants joining a BBB cast — behind only Ieda (BBB17), who joined at the age of 70, and Harumi (BBB16), 64 at the time. At 63 years old, Norberto spent little time in the most watched house in the country and was second eliminated in a wall with the iconic Naiá and Ana Carolina.

In 2017, Nonô passed away at his home in São Carlos, in the interior of São Paulo, at the age of 72 due to cancer. Having graduated in accounting sciences, he retired and decided to follow his dream of being an actor, a profession he practiced when he joined the program.
