Searching for the book “1984” in George Orwell had a peak in searches in the early hours of this Wednesday (17) after Vanessa Lopes talk about the work on Big Brother Brasil 2024.
The searches were concentrated among users in Rio Grande do Norte, Alagoas, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Sul and Pará, Google Trends showed.
It is the second time that a book has been mentioned on the reality show and searches for the work are growing. Wanessa Camargo suggested reading “Sociedade do Espetáculo” to the brothers and the title had the biggest peak in the last 10 years.
In a conversation with Luigi and MC Bin Laden, Vanessa spoke about one of the walls in the house that reminds her of the book released in 1949.
“There is a book that is based on this program, 1900 and I don’t know what. I received it from someone I used to stay there in Recife (…). Anyway, it's because it's destiny. [Ela] He told me a little about the story, which is a society in which everything sees everything, there is no privacy, everything is seen. Anyway, and then there is a big brother, in whom he sees everything, the big brother. That wall has eyes, eyes that open and close,” he said.
