BBC ‘cut’ Gary Lineker for criticizing the government – ‘Have an opinion but not a position on political issues’

An uproar has broken out in Britain and specifically around his name Gary Linekeras the BBC banned him from presenting his show and fired him for publicly criticizing the British government.

According to dailymail.co.ukBritain has received few migrants and officially promotes the slogan “Stop the boats”, while it is expected not only to deny entry to the country to thousands of people, but even the possibility of applying for asylum.

In a state with a strong colonial past and where he has rely on immigrantsthey have severe reactions erupted and among those who disagreed is Lineker, who likened government policy to Nazi practices.

So the former soccer ace compared the rhetoric used for a new policy to limit immigration flows in the English Channel to the policies of Nazi Germany in the 1930s.

The British network therefore decided not to let him present his show as a punishment, while a representative officially stated that “the BBC has been in extensive discussions with Gary and his team in recent days. We have said that we believe his recent social media activity is a violation of our guidelines. The BBC has decided that it will withdraw from presenting Match Of The Day until we have an agreed and clear position on the use of social media.”

“When it comes to our premium football and sports coverage, Gary is second to none. We never said that Gary had to be an “opinion-free zone” or that he couldn’t have an opinion on issues he cared about, but we did say that should stay away from taking sides on party or political issues or political controversies“, he then added.
