BBC tragic blunder: He tried to close a guest who has been dead for 2 years

The Euro 2020 is in full swing and of course the channels all over Europe have special football shows, with veteran aces invited. He thought of doing the same BBC, but… did not go very well!

That’s because the BBC show’s production assistant decided to invite legendary goalkeeper Gordon Banks, who made the biggest (by many) rebound in history, to a Pelé header in the 1970 World Cup match between England and Brazil.

So far so good and of course the thought was very good if there was not one important detail: Gordon Banks died in February 2019 at the age of 81!

The e-mail, of course, was leaked to the phlegmatic British press with the BBC issuing a statement, stressing: “We are very sorry if this caused an upset”
