Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria plans to distribute a dividend of over 7 billion Euros to shareholders for 2021 and 2022, announced the CEO of the company.
The Spanish bank plans to distribute the amount, equivalent to 20% of its capitalization, through a € 3.5 billion repurchase program launched last year, and in two-year dividends, said CEO Carlos Torres Vila.
The company has set a payment policy of around 40% -50% of its consolidated regular profits.
After the stock market and assuming that its offer to acquire the shares of Turkiye Garanti Bankası that it does not have will be fully accepted, the company will still have more than 2 billion euros in surplus capital, said Torres Vila.
