BC officials criticize increases to police officers and defend readjustment for all

In response to changes in the final version approved for the 2022 Budget, which set aside BRL 1.7 billion for increases for federal security forces, the National Union of Central Bank Employees (Signal) released a statement on Wednesday ( 22) criticizing the decision and stating that a raise should take place for all public careers.

“The fact that the current readjustments are granted only to servers in the security area brings a very complicated distortion: the initial salaries of federal police officers will be greater than the remuneration at the end of their careers for BC servers”, says Sinal’s note.

“This maladjustment will not only provoke a huge uproar within the Central Bank (pessimization of the organizational climate and culture) but will also allow for a large exodus of BC servants to the PF when the opening of public service exams for federal police officers.”

Other groups of servers also spoke out against the possible increase.

Earlier this Wednesday, delegates and heads of division of the Internal Revenue handed over their positions in protest at the cuts in resources planned for the Ministry of Economy in 2022, money that could be used to make the readjustment possible for the police.

According to the National Union of Auditors (Sindifisco), there have been 324 requests for dismissal so far. “To give readjustment to police officers, they took the budget of the agency that collects”, he told the CNN the president of the union entity, Kleber Cabral.
