BC postpones note on foreign sector, credit and tax amid server shutdown

In the midst of the standard operation of the Central Bank’s servers, the institution informed this Monday (28) that it will not disclose the economic-financial statistics for February this week, as expected. The monetary authority’s advisory said the publication dates would be released “in due course”.

This Monday, the release of statistics on the external sector was scheduled. In the fourth, the monetary and credit note would be published and, in the fifth, the fiscal statistics.

For the second consecutive week, the movement of BC servers also delayed the release of the Market Focus Report. The data, which is normally published around 8:25 am, was only available at 10 am on Monday (28).

As shown by Broadcast (Grupo Estado’s real-time news system) on Sunday, BC president Roberto Campos Neto gave up participating in an event in Campo Mourão (PR) this Monday to closely monitor the mobilization of civil servants, who can declare a strike at an assembly scheduled for early afternoon. The information was confirmed to Broadcast by technicians from the institution.

Faced with the risk of a total stoppage of activities, Campos Neto met with representatives of the servers on Saturday night, 26. The BC workers demanded from him a government position on the possibility of salary readjustment.

The category requires an increase of 26.3%, in addition to career restructuring. However, the chairman of the authority did not present an offer for an increase in paychecks.

BC servers have been outages for four hours daily, from 2 pm to 6 pm, since March 17.

The movement has already delayed disclosures such as the Focus Survey, the result of the Pre-Copom Questionnaire, the foreign exchange flow, in addition to the daily calculation of Ptax.
