The provision of subsidies for electricity and natural gas to companies, depending on the amount of energy costs borne by each professional sector, is again requested by the Athens Chamber of Crafts.
On the occasion of the current announcements of the government, for the provision of subsidies for electricity and natural gas, the administration of BEA points out that -once again- all the businesses of the country are treated horizontally. “No planning, no differentiation, from the amounts and the way thousands of companies have been subsidized so far” as it is emphasized in a relevant announcement of the chamber.
The administration of the Athens Chamber of Crafts reminds that it has pointed out many times that the measures should be differentiated by professional sector, depending on the severity of energy costs, so as not to create injustices and inequalities between companies. He also believes that an evaluation by the financial staff and a careful approach is needed, in order to prove in practice that the measures will substantially support the companies.
“Unfortunately, horizontal subsidies are not enough for the survival of companies, which fatally increase the prices of their products, transferring the costs to the final consumer, who in turn can not meet due to limited purchasing power” as underlined .
The management of BEA and its president Pavlos Ravanis once again ask the government and the competent financial staff to proceed immediately to the planning of targeted measures to support productive enterprises such as:
– To give the craft companies a subsidy percentage on the adjustment clause and not a discount on the energy price.
– Give a subsidy for the increase of energy recorded in the energy tariffs, in the form of interest-free loan or repayable advance, in order to address the liquidity problem they face. Specifically, based on the energy prices of July 2021, to retroactively subsidize the increase of energy tariffs, for each month or two months, in each craft, in which proven (based on KAD), energy is an important factor in shaping the cost estimate. of.
– To give the possibility of choosing a fixed tariff to the craft enterprises, in order to reduce their dependence on the stock market price.
– Prepare a plan by the government and the representatives of the companies, which will include financial aid, in order for the companies to proceed with the purchase of lower energy class machines, or the production of RES, for the manufacture of their products.
– To subsidize the payment of municipal fees to 100% and after the end of the energy crisis, companies to return to the previous regime.
– Reduce all excise taxes on energy bills.
