The brown bear cub that became “disoriented” after becoming intoxicated by eating an excessive amount of hallucinogenic honey is doing well, according to information from the Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry released on Friday (12).
According to the publication released through Twitter, the bear will be baptized as “Balkiz”.
“Our cute teddy bear’s name will be ‘Balkiz’. Long live the name of our daughter. Balkiz’s health is good, we will release her into her living space as soon as possible.”

The animal was rescued by teams from national parks in the province of Duzce, in northwest Turkey, on Thursday (11), after being observed for signs of intoxication.
Footage showed the bear swaying and whimpering as it sat on its back in the back of a pickup truck after people rescued the visibly weakened animal from the forest.
Crazy honey, or “deli bal” in Turkish, is a type of rhododendron honey that can have hallucinogenic effects.
