Bear mauls deer hunter in Alaska

A 50-year-old deer hunter who went missing in Alaska has been found mauled by a bear. CBS News reported that it was Tad Fujioka, 50, of Sitka, Alaska, who was late returning from deer hunting Tuesday night. State wildlife officials and the U.S. Coast Guard began searching Wednesday morning for Fujioka in a remote wooded area. At approximately 11:30 a.m., Fujioka’s remains were found and “investigation revealed that he was likely the victim of a fatal bear attack.” Officials said his body has been recovered and his relatives have been notified. Authorities have not released details of their investigation or the type of bear involved in the attack.
