Beatrice and Pippa, a coat for two (at the Christmas concert)

Different colors but the coat is definitely the same. Beatrice of York e Pippa Middleton attended the event Royal Carols: Together At Christmas organized by Kate at Westminster Abbey with a signed overcoat, respectively camel and green The Fold. The model, which is called Finchley, has an enveloping silhouette and slightly tight at the waist and is designed for important occasions such as weddings or evenings at the theater. In addition to the color, there are some different details such as the percentage of Italian wool (it is highlighted on the site), and the buttons. The price is also identical: 915 euros.

To embellish these details, however, there is the history of the brand. Founded in 2012 by Polly McMaster, The Fold was created to provide working women with an elegant and contemporary tailored wardrobe. McMaster’s light bulb went on while he was attending his masters in economics with colleagues who were asking the same question: if the men’s suits were all impeccable, coming from the best tailors in Savile Row, why couldn’t the alternatives be equally desirable for women? The business idea was therefore born to fill a gap in the market that offered a luxury yet accessible product that would allow women to realize their ambitions. A good dress gives confidence and an appropriate look promotes female empowerment.

Pippa Middleton had already chosen this brand in the past but the most important event is certainly the wedding of Harry and Meghan in May of 2018. For the royal wedding she chose a mint green and powder pink floral dress. But the one who trusted the brand in what we could define the startup phase was obviously Kate.

The Duchess wore a white tweed dress for a visit to a women’s prison in 2015. However, there are no other The Fold outfits in Kate’s wardrobe. The style queen left her husband’s sister and cousin the risk of attending the same event with an (almost) identical garment.
