Because the new Dyson straightener shortens styling time

There are straighteners and straighteners, but the new Dyson straightener takes it a step further because it allows you to straighten dry hair freeing it from the damage caused by excessive heat. Dyson Airstrait allows you to obtain straight hair with a natural effect thanks to a directed air flow that dries and straightens it at the same time. A magic? It’s not technology. Dyson has researched the science of hair for over a decade and is investing half a billion pounds to expand and accelerate research and technological development in the beauty category.

This plate wet to dry promises to save time, keep hair full and healthy, and create a natural looking blowout.

How the new Dyson straightener works

The lock of hair is inserted between two arms from which two jets of air come out at high speed downwards. Directed at 45°, they converge to form a single targeted jet of air that straightens the hair while drying. Dyson Airstrait is powered by the Hyperdymium motor, at the heart of all Dyson haircare technologies. At 27 mm, it is small enough to fit into the plate handle. The second aspect that characterizes Dyson tools is the heat control. Glass bead thermistors in the straightener measure the temperature of the airflow up to 16 times per second to prevent extreme heat damage and protect hair’s natural shine. This data is sent to the microprocessor which regulates the resistance, ensuring that the airflow does not exceed the required temperature.

Why a wet to dry straightener?

Did we really need it? The fact that a single tool dries and styles the hair revolutionizes the hairstyling ritual by simplifying the gestures and shortening the time. Not only that, this has a hair health benefit. As Dyson experts explain: «To style the hair, the hydrogen bonds within each strand must be broken and restored to take on a new shape. When hair is wet, water naturally weakens these bonds which become more elastic and can be restored when hair dries, without resorting to extreme temperatures. All with a smooth, full-bodied and voluminous crease, like after styling with a hair dryer and brush.

The answers we would like

Every novelty brings with it some questions. We asked ourselves three, here are the answers:

Can it also be used to dry the roots of the hair?
Yes, because there are two speed settings for the airflow: low flow and high flow, as well as the “cold shot” and “root drying” mode for drying the roots.

Can the new Dyson straightener also be used on dry hair?
It can be set in “Dry” mode, with a temperature between 120°C or 140°C or “boost” for a higher temperature.

Without the hot plates of traditional stylers, does the crease have the same hold?
The “cold shot” mode is designed precisely to fix the hairstyle as the last final step.

The initiative. Buying a new Dyson tool in the Toni & Guy salons you are entitled to a free hair tutorial: a hairstylist will explain how to use the tool by creating four-handed styling.
