Becoming Maestre, so Netflix gives a voice to women

Giving a voice to women. With this single goal, the Academy of Italian Cinema – David di Donatello and Netflix they decided to found Becoming Maestre: a springboard for a new generation of professionals in cinema and seriality. Becoming Maestre, whose selections are open on the site https://becomingmaestre.daviddidonatello.it/, aims to offer twenty candidates an exclusive path of tutoring, training and growth. At the end of the course, to which a jury of Masters and Masters will guarantee access, four particularly deserving students will be selected.

And, only these, will be offered a position as an assistant to one of the Italian productions in which Netflix is ​​engaged.

«Becoming Maestre wants to be a further concrete sign of how important it is for Netflix to contribute to the Italian creative ecosystem and at the same time of our commitment, in Italy as in the rest of the world, towards a more inclusive, varied and egalitarian industry. Our audiences want to see their life reflected in the stories we tell; this variety and diversity of looks are achievable only if only if the inclusion in the stories we bring to the screen corresponds to an inclusion in those who make these stories », said Tinny Andreatta, vice-president of the Italian original series of Netflix.
