Bed bugs were found in a student residence in Brussels

Bed bugs have been detected in a student residence of the VUB university (Vrije Universiteit Brussel) in Brussels, according to information from the Bruzz website republished by the newspaper “Le Soir”. “We discovered seven rooms with bed bugs out of the 1,500 rooms we offer. The rooms are not all in the same complex, but the students have contact with each other,” explains one of the directors. He noted that “everyone affected has been contacted and the first round of inspection has already taken place. As bed bug eggs can still survive in the chambers, we will soon carry out a second round of eradication measures. However, all students were able to return to their rooms normally.” In Brussels, there is a specialized team made up of Belgian Malinois trained to detect bed bugs. Last weekend the dogs checked all the beds in the home.
