“Beetlejuice 2”: Jenna Ortega and Winona Ryder star in new trailer

The film “Beetlejuice 2” titled in Brazil as “The Ghosts Still Have Fun” got a new trailer this Thursday (18). The eponymous sequel to the 1988 horror classic premieres in Brazilian cinemas in September 6th of this year.

The new story will show Lydia’s return to the house where her family was haunted more than 30 years ago. Accompanying her will be her daughter, Astrid, who will be responsible for finding a model of the city and bringing the ghost Beetlejuice back.

Created by Tim Burton the original story stars the actor Michael Keaton who will return in the sequel to once again play the iconic rebellious ghost. The actress Winona Ryder also reprises her role as Lydia in the sequel. Jenna Ortega completes the cast as Astrid.

In an interview with the podcast The Jess Cagle Show in March of this year, Michael Keaton said he saw the first version of the film, which was undergoing final edits at the time. During the conversation, the star praised “Beetlejuice 2“ and said he talked to Tim Burton for many years to find out how they would “revive” the “work of art” that is the first version.

“It was fun, really fun to shoot. And it’s really good,” he said. “It’s really good. And beautiful. Beautiful, physically, you know? The other one was fun and visually exciting. This one is all of those things, but really beautiful and emotionally interesting here and there,” he said.

Furthermore, Michael Keaton also warns that the sequel manages to bring an even more comical bias than the original version.
