“Beetlejuice” returns to theaters ahead of sequel release

The classic “Beetlejuice” (1988) returns to Brazilian cinemas this Thursday (15). The film will be showing until next Wednesday (21). The sequel to Tim Burton’s horror comedy, entitled “The Ghosts Still Have Fun” on September 5th.

In the plot, Barbara and Adam Maitland find themselves trapped, haunting their old house, after dying in a car accident. When a new family and their teenage daughter, Lydia, move into the residence, the ghostly couple tries, unsuccessfully, to scare the new residents. Their attempts at haunting attract a flashy spirit, whose help becomes dangerous for both the pair of souls and the girl.

The title stars Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder who return for the sequel, which is also directed by Tim Burton . Names like Jenna Ortega , Monica Bellucci and Willem Dafoe make up the cast of the second film.

In “The Ghosts Still Have Fun” three generations return to the iconic house, which continues to be haunted by Beetlejuice, after a huge and unexpected tragedy.

In Brazil, Beetlejuice will be voiced by actor Eduardo Sterblitch, who played the character in the play “Beetlejuice – The Musical” a Brazilian adaptation of the famous Broadway play, which had its first performance in 2018.
