THE Cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov shared some photos of Earth seen from the International Space Station (ISS) . The images, which can be seen in the gallery above, were released by Roscosmos -The Russian Space Agency-on the morning of Monday (17).
Gorbunov says goodbye to ISS this week, as he is part of the crew-9 mission with Nick Hague and the Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams – The two astronauts who participated in Starline’s manned inaugural flight and have been “stuck” in the space for almost nine months.
The Crew-10 mission, which will yield the current ISS crew, docked the space laboratory on Sunday (16). An Spacex Dragon capsule, traveling at the top of one of the company’s Falcon 9 rockets, took the CREW-10 Astronauts-Anne McClain and NaSa NASA nichole Ayers, Takuya Onishi of Japan’s Aerospace Agency, and Cosmonaut Kirill Peskov from Roscosmos-to orbit.
They will spend a few days in a period of “transfer” with their Crew-9 colleagues before taking the post at ISS officially and releasing the return of the crew that has been in orbit for months.
Even when it comes to a periodically occurs, the ISS crew exchange and the return of Crew-9 to Earth has been highlighted from the media due to the presence of Wilmore and Williams. The two took off for the space in June last year for a mission that should last only seven days, but ended up being “stuck” in orbit for almost nine months after his ship had problems.
If all goes as planned, Williams, Wilmore, Hague and Gorbunov will return to Earth on March 18.
