THE Hummingbird consecrated itself as the great Carnival champion of Rio de Janeiro, 2025. The title was the 15th of the association.
The school added 270 points. The announcement was made on Wednesday (5), after the disclosure of the voting results. See how was the investigation.
The group of the association makes it remain the third most awarded of Rio Carnival, losing only to Portela and Mangueira. The last time the hummingbird had been champion was in 2018.

How was the Hummingbird Parade at the 2025 RJ Carnival?
The parade of Hummingbird of Nilópolis brought the image of “Cristo Mendigo ”, in reference to the 1989 Carnival . That year, an allegory of the Hummingbird was censored by the court, and the image passed through the covered avenue with a plastic bag.
The 2025 plot was a Tribute to Laila Carnival director of Beija-Flor deceased in 2021. He was responsible for the success of the 1989 parade, even with censorship.
