Its principles Belarus placed the opposition journalist under house arrest Roman Protasevic, as well as his partner, a Russian citizen Sofia Sapega, was broadcast today by the Russian service of the BBC.
Protasevic and Sapega were arrested on May 23 after Belarusian authorities forced a Ryanair plane to land in Minsk.
The opposition journalist was taken from a detention facility to a rented apartment in Minsk, as was Sapega, according to statements made by Dmitry Protasevic’s father to the BBC, who noted that the Belarusian authorities were not providing any information to the family at this time.
Sapega’s father, Sergei Dudic, also told the BBC that the move had taken her parents by surprise and that she was now alone in a rented apartment in Minsk.
The Belarusian Interior Ministry has not yet commented on the news.
