The first own sports car was built in Belarus. The car, developed by Belarusian engineers, has an electric power plant, and most of the electronics used in it are of its own production.
The premiere of the first Belarusian electric sports car, called Electro Roadster, took place as part of the Minsk ELECTRO-2022 electric rally, which is taking place these days in the capital of the country. It was developed by specialists of the Joint Institute of Mechanical Engineering of the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) based on the patterns of the legendary British Lotus 7.

Acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in the car takes 6 seconds, but this is not the limit – the engineers plan to reduce this time to 4 seconds. The maximum speed is limited to 170 km/h, and the power reserve, thanks to the 24 kWh traction battery installed inside, reaches 270 km.
Of course, the Electro Roadster is not a mass-produced car, but only a prototype, created primarily to test the algorithms and solutions of electric drive control systems in the most loaded modes – with intensive acceleration, braking and long-term movement at maximum speed. The body of the sports car, apparently, is made of plastic panels on a steel frame.
The Electro Roadster itself is unlikely to “go” into the series. But the components used in it are expected to form the basis of future production models with Belarusian roots.
