Belavia’s gendir Igor Chegrinets was outraged on Facebook by the ban on flights of Belarusian aircraft by a number of countries, calling it “meanness” and “fascist perversity.”
He believes that France, the United States, Great Britain and Lithuania “actually imposed sanctions against Belavia” without waiting for the ICAO investigation into the forced landing of the Ryanair plane in Minsk and the subsequent arrest of the oppositionist Roman Protasevich, who was flying on board.
Chegrinets claims that the governments of these countries “have entered into an agreement to land Belavia’s planes” and “are closing air corridors one by one with particular fascist perversity.”
In his opinion, this is “meanness” – and Western countries “are punishing the innocent Belavia without really starting an investigation.”
The company’s gendir also claims that Belavia will not cut 50% of its staff, as reported in the media.
