The number of coronavirus cases in Belgium shows a slight decrease with the reproduction rate falling below one.
Between November 27 and December 3, an average of 17,146 new infections were detected per day, down 4% from the previous week, according to data from the Sciensano Institute of Public Health.
The playback rate (Rt) is 0.96. At the same time, 114,500 tests are performed daily, with a positive rate of 16.6%.
Regarding hospitalizations, 300.4 were recorded daily on average between November 30 and December 6 (-5% compared to last week).
Between November 27 and December 3, an average of 48.1 people died each day from the virus (+ 22%).
Finally, 8,712,921 people are fully vaccinated. 87% of adults have been fully vaccinated, while the percentage in the total population reaches 76%.
