Divided into three will be the Belgium from 1 October as regards its management pandemic of coronavirus.
Prime Minister Alexander de Croo announced on September 17 that the regions would now be free to set their own rules. Thus, from 1 October, while in Flanders the obligation to use a mask in public places, businesses, shops and schools will be abolished, in Brussels not only will it not be abolished (indoors), but the use of the vaccination certificate will also be applied for people over 16 in restaurants, sports centers and cultural venues.
Flanders cites the fact that the vaccination rate is very high in its region (91% of people over the age of 18 are fully vaccinated). In Wallonia, on the other hand, the vaccination rate over the age of 18 is 79% and in Brussels 64%.
Wallonia decided yesterday, Thursday, to follow the example of Brussels in the management of the pandemic, so from October 15 the entrance to the restaurant and other activities will be done only with the use of the certificate of vaccination, disease or negative test.
The three regions of Belgium, however, have managed to establish common rules for the administration of the third dose of the covid-19 vaccine. Around the beginning of October, the third dose will be given to nursing home inmates and to people over 85 years of age and to immunocompromised people.
