Between 10/01 and 16/01, an average of 28,252 new infections per day were confirmed in the laboratory, according to data from the Sciensano Institute of Public Health. This is a number increased by 27% compared to the previous week.

In total, 2,568 patients with COVID-19 are being treated in Belgian hospitals, 387 in intensive care units (ICU).
