The abolition of the sanitary pass and the obligatory use of a mask, probably from March 7, is expected to be announced today by the Belgian Consultative Committee that assesses the epidemiological situation in the country.
According to reports in the Belgian press, the Covid Safe Ticket and the QR code will no longer be necessary for access to public places (restaurants, museums, cinemas, etc.). The Advisory Committee is likely to announce the abolition of this measure from next Monday, March 7, as well as the abolition of the use of masks in all public places. The use of the mask is expected to be abolished in schools, while it has already been abolished for children under 12 years. The mask is expected to be removed in restaurants as well, however it is likely that it will remain mandatory on public transport.
The “coronavirus barometer”, which evaluates the epidemiological situation in Belgian hospitals with a color code and the need for restrictive measures, is at the lowest level (yellow), which means that the restrictions must be lifted.
